When is the Whale Watching Season?

How much does the bus from the Gold Coast cost and what time does it leave?

We pick up from all major Gold Coast hotels to connect with our daily 10 am launch service from Holt St, Pinkenba, and drop off passengers from our 4.00 p.m. launch service (4.30 Saturdays) back to the Gold Coast hotels. Pick-ups at all Gold Coast Hotels daily start from 7.30 a.m. Bookings for this service are to be made at the time of the Accommodation booking.

Is there Internet access at the Resort?

An Internet kiosk is available at the Resort. Internet access is $2.00 for 10 minutes.

 
How long is the travel time from Holt Street Wharf to the Resort?

Travel time from Holt Street Wharf to Tangalooma Resort is 1 hour and 15 minutes.

 
How do you interact with the Dolphins?

Guests first disinfect their hands and are given fish by the Dolphin Care Team. They then wade into the water to about knee depth. The dolphins swim up to the guests and take the fish from their hands. Swimming with or touching the dolphins is not allowed as we try to minimise stress on the dolphins and to keep the animals as wild as possible.

If I arrive by Barge (on foot) how will I get to the Resort?

When the Barge lands near the Tangalooma Wrecks, the Resort is only a 20 - 30 minute walk South down the beach. (Note: can be subject to soft sand and tide conditions thus may be strenuous)
The Moreton Island Taxi service can be contacted on ph: 3408 2661 and will run services from the Barge to Tangalooma Resort. (Note; Taxi service must be pre-booked.)

 
When do the dolphins come in?

The dolphins arrive at the Resort at dusk each evening. During the Summer months (November – February), the dolphins arrive around 7.00pm. In Winter months, the dolphins arrive around 6.00pm. For more information on dolphin feeding, please click here.

 
Are there EFTPOS facilities at the Resort?

Tangalooma offers EFTPOS and Credit Card facilities at several locations at the resort including reception, resort shop, tours desk, restaurants and bar.

 
Are there disabled facilities at the Resort?

Tangalooma Resort is wheelchair friendly with disabled toilets and ramp access to most facilities. The hotel rooms in Kookaburra Lodge have lift access and wheelchair specific rooms.

 
Is there a car park at the Wharf?

An open-air car park is available for guests at the Tangalooma terminal at Holt St Wharf at a cost of $6 per vehicle, per day or $30 per week. The car park is fenced and locked each evening for security reasons.

 
Are there locker facilities available at the Resort for day guests?

Locker facilities are available for all Resort guests for a small fee.

 
Do you have a pick-up from city hotels?

Transfer connections with the 10am departure from Brisbane and 4pm departure from Tangalooma will now include all Gold Coast hotels, Brisbane Airports and Transit Centre, as well as catering for hotels in the regions of Brisbane inner city, South Bank and Kangaroo Point.

A new coach service will connect with the 5pm departure from Brisbane and the 9am departure from Tangalooma. Transfers will be available to and from the Brisbane Airport, Transit Centre, Brisbane inner city, South Bank and Kangaroo Point hotels. Please note that this service is not available for transfers to/from Gold Coast hotels.

Coach transfers from Gold Coast hotels will begin from 7am. Transfers from Brisbane City hotels will start from 8.15am and 3.15pm and Transit Centre pick-ups starting from 9.15am and 3.45pm respectively. Times will be confirmed with booking.

Brisbane Transit Centre pick up point will be moved to Bus Bay 22 on Level 3. Brisbane airport pick up times start from 9am and 4pm and meeting points will remain the same, as per the Airport transfer page attached.
Costs associated with the coach transfers are as follows:

  • $10 per adult and $5 per child one way - transfers from Brisbane Airport, Transit Centre and inner city, South Bank and Kangaroo Point hotels.
  • $40 per adult and $20 per child one-way - transfers from Gold Coast Hotels

Yes, we have day cruises to Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort. For more information, click here.
Unfortunately, passengers on the day cruise do not get to participate in the dolphin feeding program at the cruise departs the resort well before the dolphins usually arrive. However our Extended Day Cruise allows you to participate in the dolphin feeding.
